What is a physical security assessment?
A Physical Security Assessment, or Physical Security Risk Assessment, is a detailed examination of a structure in its entirety to include all physical safety, and security mechanisms, requisite to protecting its occupants, and assets. The aforementioned is an over simplified definition of a procedure having an array of critical elements. Only a professional, and expert in physical security operations, should conduct an assessment.

Accordingly, we analyzed the 2022 crime index report prepared by the New York State, Division of Criminal Justice Services.
“Index crime in New York State increased (+22%) in 2022
compared to 2021, with 421,322 Index crimes reported.
The increase was driven by a 25 percent increase in all
three property crimes and increases in the violent crimes
of robbery (+25%) and aggravated assault (+9%). Murder
(-11%) and rape (-4%) both decreased.”
“The state’s Index crime rate declined by 3 percent
when comparing 2013 and 2022. During the same time
period, the violent crime rate increased 11 percent and
New York State experienced a 36 percent increase in
firearm-related homicides when comparing 2013 to 2022

Alarmingly, data clearly shows a rapid increase in criminal actions between 2021 and 2022. We are confident that criminal acts have surpassed the 2013 high mark.
